Unfortunately, there are no known cures for Tinnitus, but many people have reduced their symptoms by treating the underlying cause of it. In some cases, those that suffer from Tinnitus and hearing loss have found success by using hearing devices designed to specifically address ringing in the ears.
Tinnitus is not a disease, rather a symptom that typically results from an underlying cause. Most patients develop Tinnitus as a result of noise-induced hearing loss. That being said, other causes range from serious to not so serious and can include:
- Ear infections
- Disease of the heart or blood vessels
- Brain tumors
- Emotional stress
- Head injury
